Paul attended the University of Utah earning BA and M Architecture degrees. He practiced architecture beginning in 1982 using hand drafting and drawing tools to convey design ideas and execute construction drawings. As the architectural profession evolved to rely on computer aided design he continued to use watercolor, pen and ink and pencil drawings to convey early design concepts throughout his professional career. His commissioned work includes watercolors for two sitting Governors and various publications.
He has traveled extensively through Scandinavia, Western Europe and the United States to study and sketch architecture and urban design.
Paul lives in Central Utah and draws inspiration for his work from the rich desert and mountain landscapes of the American West.
